Welcome to CREC Preschool at Progress Drive.  It is an honor and a privilege to serve as Principal of CREC Preschool.  Since our opening in 2022, CREC Preschool has been dedicated to providing a warm, nurturing environment that celebrates the diversity of each family. CREC Preschool is a place where students are curious about the world in which they live. Our students are compassionate, creative, and filled with the desire to explore new things.

We are all very excited about the 2023-24 school year. Our classrooms are full with activities and ideas that challenge and inspire our young students. Our amazing teachers and educational staff work hard to create an exceptional learning environment for our students.

Our focus is to provide a stimulating learning environment that nurtures the "whole child" by fostering the five senses (emotional, social, physical, cognitive, and creative development). We will accomplish this by applying a play-based emergent learning curriculum that is child-oriented and teacher-guided. Learning takes place using several teaching methods and utilizing our "learning centers" such as art center, dramatic play center, block center, science center, library center, sensory center, and circle time. Our centers provide opportunities for children to develop socially, to engage in physical activities, and to tap into their creative side (and just to be with friends!) We aim to expose the children to rich and diverse cultures through engaging and meaningful activities. Our main goal is to inspire children to become lifelong learners, problem solvers, and creative thinkers. 

As your principal, please know that relationships and community engagement are very important to me. Throughout the year, exciting things are happening in our preschool classrooms and in our school! We encourage parents and families to partner with us and get involved by joining our newly established PTO, volunteering at school activities, and taking an active role in your child's education. You are the best gift you can give your child. You are your child's most important teacher. Spend time with your child. I believe that learning should be fun and that preschool school should pave the way for a lifetime of learning.

Did you know that 90% of brain development happens before kindergarten? It is my desire to keep the focus on your child’s development including early learning, health, family well-being, attendance, and doing whatever it takes to help ALL our students be successful and enjoy coming to school each day.
